WINY MAAS TO TEACH AD
May 13 , 2024
The Architectural Design Course is the cornerstone of our programme and we are thrilled to announce that one of our Design studios will be led by Dutch architect Winy Maas. His position will start in September 2024 with the topic „City movements: the mobility master” with studies on the relationships between new mobilities and cityscapes.
This is a further development of Mr. Maas´ academic activities in the Czech Republic, which started in 2022 as guest professor at Prague’s Czech Technical University, Faculty of Architecture. One of his successful projects, CZ02 – Visions for the future of the Czech Republic, brought together students from five universities from the Czech Republic and the Netherlands and presented their thoughts on the country´s future. Students sparked hundreds of ideas for reforestation, national parks, industrial production, transport infrastructure, housing, demography, population density, ecology, sociology and economics in this unique project. The results are placed on a huge map of the Czech Republic, which is traveling in exhibitions around the country.
Winy Maas is a landscape architect, urban planner, architect and founding partner of MVRDV, renowned international studio based in Rotterdam. Besides his work for MVRDV, he is Professor of Urbanism and Architecture at the Delft University of Technology, where he leads a global research think-tank – The Why Factory.
